At Good Shepherd, our second graders experience a rigorous program that helps develop the whole student in order to build a solid foundation and prepares them for success in third grade.  During Language Arts, we work on phonics, vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing. In math, we work on computation, concept development, and problem solving. In social studies, we explore what makes our community a great place to live and in science, we explore different areas to understand the world around us. In religion, we believe that it is important to develop a child's faith targeting both knowledge and the affective (head and heart).  To develop these areas, we use a variety of resources and teaching strategies.  We work together with families to build up our students.  We hope that you will join our Good Shepherd family and begin your journey toward a grounded foundation!
