I have the privilege of being the Math & Social Studies teacher for 3rd, 4th and 5th grades here at Good Shepherd. I love what I do and I enjoy working with young people to maximize their learning experience and also making learning fun and enjoyable. The intermediate grades are so much fun to teach because I get to see the student's growth and maturity during a time where they change so much. The 3rd graders are transitioning from Primary grades and are adjusting to getting letter grades and figuring out intermediate. 5th grade is a year of transition when the students are getting ready for the middle school years. If your son or daughter is in my class I want them to look forward to coming to school and actually look forward to class. I believe in differentiated teaching which really comes down to understanding the strengths and weaknesses of every student and work towards the strengths while improving their weaknesses. We all learn differently so it is important to understand and teach students where they will be most successful.
This is my second career and I truly believe this was my calling to work with young people. If you have a chance I truly recommend bringing your son or daughter to Good Shepherd. It has a great learning environment along with small class sizes. I hope to see you soon!
